Photo of the Week!
F 5.6; 1/100; ISO 100; 87mm.
Shot at the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial in Washington, DC.
In honor of Martin Luther King — a civil rights activist whose life and achievements are celebrated on the third Monday of January in the United States — this photo of the week depicts his memorial in Washington DC. The design of it is unconventional, but thoughtful; it was inspired by a quote from his “I Have a Dream” speech: “Out of the mountain of despair, a stone of hope.” The statue of MLK is emerging from a slab of marble and, in this particular photograph, from the shadows and in to the light.
