The days are short, the weather is largely unpleasant, and most chillingly, rioters tried to stage a coup at the behest of the sitting president of the United States. The bleakness in our current state of affairs is overwhelming, and even when there’s something on the horizon to look forward to, it’s hard not to revert back to feeling depressed right now. This week’s #POTW — with the mountain range in soft-but-dark blues and the land and trees leading up to it portrayed in shades of grays — metaphorically reflects these sentiments. Don’t despair though! Yes, there’s a lot of snow and ice and a thick forest immediately in front of us, but beauty lies juuust further ahead and it’s certain to come soon; consider this striking photo taken from a spot nearby. Hang in there until then!
