Photo of the Week!

Shot on the west side of the Washington Monument — looking northward — in Washington, DC.
Spring has sprung in Washington DC. Its prized cherry trees have blossomed, the temperatures are warming up but not getting too hot, and the city is turning green after another gray, rainy winter. Normally people’ll flock to public spaces to enjoy it all, but because of the coronavirus outbreak (and subsequent “stay-at-home” mandates), that’s not happening this year. The city has since become eerily still, and its residents are allowed to go out only under certain conditions. Exercise is permissible in the District so long as social distance is maintained during workouts. Pictured here is a pair of athletes catching their breaths along the National Mall. They may just be stopping to stretch and rest their muscles, but their physical expressions of exasperation (ie hands on head, hands on hips) while facing the White House seems like more than a coincidence… Who could blame them?
Stay safe and hang in there! This too shall pass.
